WARDSBORO CURTAIN CALL
The Wardsboro Curtain Call is a volunteer group of Wardsboro residents formed to pursue enhancements to the Wardsboro Town Hall.
Our current project is to conserve and install a set of historic hand painted curtains for the stage. These curtains were painted by Troy, NY, artist Charles Huiest and are a gift to Wardsboro from the Grange in West Paris, Maine. Wardsboro Curtain Call members traveled to West Paris in early April, rolled and wrapped the curtains, packed them into a U-Haul, and brought them back to Wardsboro; they are now in Town Hall awaiting cleaning and installation.
The cleaning, repairing and installation is scheduled for 9/22 through 9/26.
See pictures of the curtains (before conservation) in the photo gallery.
Sunday, 9/21: Christine Hadsel will give a presentation about Vermont's historic painted scenic curtains in Wardsboro Town Hall. This presentation will also serve as an orientation for the volunteers who will be helping with the cleaning and repairs.
